About Wick and terms

Wick is a free daily general knowledge quiz. Each UK day, from midnight to midnight in London, everyone gets the same 100 questions. You have 1 minute, and one scored attempt. After that you can practise the same questions. Practice is not scored.

A candle burns with the 60-second clock. On a phone it sits above the question. On a larger screen it stands beside the questions. Each correct answer adds 2 seconds, and the candle grows back with the clock. The round ends when the flame goes out, you finish the 100, or you tap End game. The score still stops at 100 questions.

It works as ordinary files in the browser. It does not need an account or a build step. After a scored daily game, Wick can send the day, how many you got right, and a random device ID to Supabase so it can show how you compare. Practice is not sent. The privacy and cookie notice explains that storage.

How to play

Each question has four answers. Tap one, or press 1, 2, 3, or 4. A right answer adds 2 seconds and moves on at once. A wrong answer shows the right one, adds no time, and locks the buttons for 2 seconds, while the clock and the candle keep burning. That pause applies in the daily game and in practice.

Scoring

A wrong answer scores nothing and the answer streak returns to zero. Streaks of 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 correct answers in a row show a louder “On fire” line. If sound is on, the phone may also give a short buzz at those marks. Days played in a row are kept on this device, with badges at 3, 7, 14, 30, 50 and 100 days. The day number in a shared result, Wick #N, counts from 3 November 2026.

A few questions use a precise word, such as “official capital” or “by surface area”, because the short version would have two fair answers.

Sound

Sound is off until you turn it on. The clicks are made in the browser. No sound file is downloaded. The on or off choice is saved on this device.

Sharing

Share result copies a short text summary, with a grid of squares and the address https://wickquiz.com, to your clipboard. Wick does not post it anywhere for you.

Terms

Wick is for fun. Scores have no cash value and are not a certificate. The questions are original to this game and were chosen because the facts stay put, not because they are in the news. They are checked with care. Even so, the quiz is offered as it is, and a wording may not suit every reader.

Please keep it kind. The questions are meant to be family-friendly.
